Registered Players

Will all clubs please ensure that their list of registered players is submitted to the Match Secretary (Judy Brown).

Please be advised that the league rules state that players must be registered at least 48 hours before they can play in a league match.

Penalties WILL be applied for playing unregistered players as per league rules.

AGM Minutes 2010

The minutes from the WDCL 2010 AGM are attached below.

An email was sent recently to all club secretaries requesting nominations for rules committee and disputes committee.

Can clubs please respond quickly to this so we can keep on top of things.

WDCL AGM 2010 - Minutes and Agenda

Agenda for WDCL AGM 2010 now available.

 

Please note:

We currently have two vacant posts:

  • Honorary Secretary
  • Fixtures Secretary
Any nominations for these vacant positions or if you wish to contend for any other position, please contact the match secretary.
 
It would be helpful if clubs reviewed the Minutes of the 2009 AGM.
Also review the formation of teams, therefore any issues can be rectified and ensure we have a smooth running AGM.

The league will supply a copy of agenda and proposals for each eligible voter, i.e. 1 per team.

WDCL 2010 Season Complete

Final League Tables, Cup Results and Individual Results have now been completed for the 2009-2010 season.

To check your results, see Results-All Divisions- Individual Details 2009 2010-Individual Player Results All Competitions, and contact the WDCL Match Secretary if you have any queries.

  • Mike Rotchell (Culcheth)

  • Ernie Gradwell (Wigan/Knights) 

on being the leading player in Divisions 1 - 4 respectively.

Jan Kitshoff is the leading player for the Richard Furness 500 League

Congratulations also to Matthew Fanning (Atherton) on his selection for the National Chess Junior Squad.

St Helens A - Richard Furness 500 League Champions

Commiserations to Penketh Chess Club, one of the founder members of the WDCL in 1946, who slip down from the top division for the first time in their history.
 
League AGM 2010

The League AGM is scheduled for 28 June 2010.

The deadline for proposals is six weeks before.

Therefore all proposals must be received in writing on or before the end of Monday 17 May 2010.

Proposals should be sent to the League Secretary.

Any proposals received after this deadline are NOT eligible to be submitted for the AGM.

WDCL AGM 2010 - Agenda

No further proposals will be accepted.

The Agenda will be published on this website Before end of Monday 24 May 2010.

This should give all clubs the necessary times to fully discuss the issues with their members and hopefully we will have a smooth running AGM.
