Welcome to the Warrington and District Chess League Homepage.  

The aim of the league is to serve the needs of Chess Players in the Warrington and Surrounding areas.

We Currently have three active Divisions catering for all spectrums of the Chess Playing community.

The WDCL also organises three annual Cup Competitions:

• Peninsular Cup
• Kalmar Cup
• Kalmar Shield

Each competition has a different selection criteria and ensures that all Clubs in the League can participate Competitively.

The WDCL also Organises the Richard Furness 500 League.
This is a Grade Point Handicapped League.

Unique to the Warrington League is the WDCL Fresher's League. Teams of 3 players contest an all-play-all rapidplay match. Players are handicapped according to grade. Ideal for new players coming into the league, and it also provides variety for existing members.

There are WDCL Clubs all around Warrington, from Northwich to Ormskirk, and from Runcorn to Padgate.
